In the preliminary task we were given the cameras for the first time to enable us to get us familiar with the equipment. We were shown how to insert and eject the MM DV Tapes. How turn the camera on and off and how to record on the camera. We were also shown how to set the tripod up and how to put the camera on the tripod. We were then told to film a short sequence which involved an object being exchanged with another person.
We were told to do this so that we could practice using the cameras and become familiar with the equipment. Also to practise the concept of match on action and 180 degrees rule. This task was very useful because it enabled us to practise how to use a camera and different shots that would be filmed and how they could be filmed.
